• • Wisconsin passed Act 30 in 2021 with the requirement that all schools teach about the Holocaust or other genocides once in grades 5-8 and once in grades 9-12 in social studies classes.  

• In this workshop, Sam Goldberg from the Nathan and Esther Pelz Holocaust Education Resource Center (HERC) from Milwaukee will be presenting a professional development to prepare educators to implement Act 30. Topics include Holocaust history, methodology for teaching the Holocaust and other genocides -including the 1994 genocide in Rwanda- and a workshop on their new teacher training tool, the Holocaust Education Map. The interactive, hands-on workshops will provide educators with tangible resources, lesson plans, and exercises they can use in their classroom.  
• Everyone will leave with all that is needed to meet the requirements of Act 30 and educate our kids about essential historical knowledge.
