Along with a general overview of using Goalbook, the focus of this training will be on Developing Meaningful Present Levels Statements

● Struggling to collect adequate and pertinent baseline data for your students?
Present Levels are the foundation of the IEP. In this interactive training, we will show how to use Goalbook to develop meaningful, data-driven present levels statements. We will explore the elements of effective present level statements and the information gathered from an impact of disability statement. We will then use this data to draft rigorous learning goals and discover UDL-aligned strategies to support instruction of grade-level content.

Part 1: Drafting a Meaningful Present Levels Statement
- Identify the elements of a present levels statement – Data, Story, Objective Statements (DSO)
- Gather and analyze qualitative and quantitative data to inform present levels of performance
- Use Goalbook Toolkit to develop a present levels statement using the DSO checklist
Part 2: Designing Instruction
- Use data from the present levels statement to identify an aligned learning goal
- Use Goalbook Toolkit to develop instructional goals
Part 3: Universal Design for Learning
- Identify the three principles of Universal Design for Learning
- Use Goalbook Toolkit to identify instructional strategies
Part 4: Application
- Use Goalbook Toolkit to design instruction for your individual students
